Ron Thommarson serves as Senior Of Counsel (Litigation) and provides the Schafer Law Firm team expertise in all aspects of business litigation matters, with a significant experience in real estate litigation, financial institution matters, and general civil litigation.
From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Thommarson practiced in Orange County with the Business Trial and Labor & Employment departments of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP, a large full service law firm with over 500 lawyers in multiple countries. Mr. Thommarson was an attorney at two litigation and real estate boutique law firms from 2003 to 2012, most recently as Most recently, Mr. Thommarson was a founding partner of Robertson & Thommarson, LLP, a boutique law firm focusing on business law and business litigation before transitioning into his current role with The Schafer Law Firm and his independent practice.
Mr. Thommarson’s litigation experience has encompassed real property disputes, foreclosure and title litigation, lender liability, warehouse lending disputes, contract claims, collections, partnership disputes, professional liability, business torts, unfair competition, intellectualproperty licensing disputes, and class actions. His labor and employment experience spans a wide variety of employment litigation.
He has also provided advice and counsel to employers and management concerning personnel policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, regulatory compliance, wage and hour issues, exemption issues, family and medical leaves, disability leaves and accommodation, and dealing with regulatory and administrative agencies.
Mr. Thommarson is admitted to practice in all of the state courts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and.
Mr. Thommarson earned a B.A. with distinction in political science from Stanford University in 1990, and obtained his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 1994.
